Why we built a fake B2B marketplace

So we built a fake marketplace. 

It’s a lovingly fake, marginally useful, somewhat cathartic collection of tools for B2B marketers who can laugh at themselves.

We’re talking a fake report generator with made-up stats. Persona voodoo dolls. A rose-tinted browser extension.

Truth is, this Marketplace is a mirror. A slightly warped, possibly cracked, deeply unserious mirror – but still, one worth looking into.

None of it fixes your pipeline. But it does make you laugh. Or cry.

Either way, people are clicking. And isn’t that the whole game?

But here’s the twist: This marketplace isn’t just a joke.

It’s also a playground for Branch Road; a place where we can test half-baked ideas, oddball side projects, and “what ifs” that don’t yet have a business case.

It’s where our bad ideas go to get weird – and sometimes get good. A home for things we’re building in the spirit of curiosity, creativity, and chaos.

We created the Marketplace because sometimes you don’t need another SaaS tool or a whitepaper. Sometimes you need a sandbox. A place to build things that spark ideas and build new things. 

Because if we can’t solve our marketing problems, we can at least make fun of them. And in doing so, maybe build something surprisingly brilliant along the way.

Or at least justify another blog post.
